Once you’ve arrived at Maison Caprera, the five acres of grounds provide a nature walk along the river Dropt, a great place for artists, photographers or even for a spot of fishing (a licence can be purchased locally). A rowing boat seating four is available for your use at your own risk – life jackets must be worn and can be provided. Electric bikes can be hired from the village, and there is a lovely riverside park for runners with outdoor gym and children’s play area for the very energetic only 5 minutes away. During the months of July and August the Dordogne is buzzing with food, craft, wine festivals and night markets. There is so much to do and see in the immediate area, and further afield, and plenty of restaurants, shops and cafés in Eymet just a stroll away.
